The DialMe blog / Instagram
Get paid for your Instagram DMs.
Your inbox already has questions. Your time answering them has value.
Maybe someone wants your opinion on their next move. Maybe they have a question about your work, your process, or something you know well. Those messages already arrive in your Instagram inbox. DialMe gives you a way to make some of those conversations paid.
Start with the inbox you already use
You do not need to send everyone to a new chat app. With DialMe, you can connect your Instagram account, choose a keyword for your paid messaging offer, and set a price. When someone sends that keyword, they receive a way to pay for a conversation with you.
Other Instagram chats still work as usual. A friend saying hello or a follower sending a message without your chosen keyword does not automatically receive the paid message prompt. The trigger is the keyword, whoever sends it.
Make the offer clear
People are more likely to understand a paid DM when they know what they can ask. A fitness creator might offer feedback on a training question. A designer might give a second opinion on a portfolio. A founder might offer perspective on a business decision. The point is a useful conversation, shaped by what you know and what your audience comes to you for.
Tell people what your paid messages are for and what your price is. A short line in your bio or a story can do the job: “For questions about my process, DM me ‘ASK’ to see my paid messaging offer.” That is an example of wording, not a required DialMe keyword.
Keep the conversation personal
After paying, the person can keep writing in their Instagram DMs. Their paid messages reach you in DialMe, where you can answer. Your reply goes back to their Instagram conversation. Message packs can give the conversation room for follow-up questions.
If a subject needs more time than a few messages, you can offer a private call. Start with the question in front of you; let the longer conversation be a choice.
Your time, your terms
You decide what kind of questions you want to take and what to charge. DialMe currently takes 20% of paid messages; you keep 80% before any personal taxes that may apply. What you earn depends on whether people choose to pay and on the conversations you have.
Your Instagram DMs can stay familiar while giving people a clear way to pay for your attention. That is a better starting point than trying to answer every thoughtful question for free.
