How to create a DialMe account

Create your DialMe account first, then decide how people will reach you. You can connect Instagram so someone starts through a keyword in your DMs, or share your DialMe direct link without authorizing Instagram inbox access.

Adding an Instagram profile to your account is not the same as connecting your Instagram messages. The first tells people where to find you. The second gives DialMe permission to receive messages and send replies through the connected account.

This walkthrough uses the website on a computer. Start with your creator invitation or the access process provided by DialMe. Creator access is invitation or application with manual review; a sign-up screen does not mean your creator tools are automatically approved. If you were invited, use the email address attached to that invitation.

Create your account

  1. Open DialMe and choose Get started. The account page begins with Your DialMe username.
  2. Choose an available username. It becomes the name in your public link, in the form dialme.com/yourname. Use 3–30 characters, start with a letter, and use letters, numbers or underscores. Wait for the availability check, then choose Continue.
  3. Enter your email and follow the email verification step. DialMe emails you a code rather than asking you to create a password. Use your invited email if you have one, and keep access to that inbox for future sign-ins.
  4. Enter your date of birth and choose Continue. You must be at least 18 to set up this creator account.
  5. At Where can fans find you?, add a public profile or website. Choose the platform and enter your handle or link. The choices include Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Telegram and a website. You need at least one link; it does not have to be Instagram.
  6. Choose Create account. Once setup succeeds, the page offers Connect Instagram and shows your DialMe profile link with a Copy control.

If you want the direct-link route, you can leave Instagram disconnected. You still need the public profile or website link from the setup step, but you do not need to authorize access to its inbox.

If your creator tools remain unavailable, check that you used the invited email and follow up through DialMe's access process. Creating another account with a different email will not resolve an invitation attached to the first one.

Set up what someone can send you

Open Your line in DialMe. Before sharing it, check the public name and picture so people can recognize you. Use Preview public page to inspect the page your audience will open.

Set Price per message and Free messages, then save each change. These are separate choices: the price determines the paid message rate; the free-message setting determines whether a new visitor has an introduction before payment is needed. If you want a paid offer from the first message, set the free allowance to zero and set a price rather than leaving messaging free. Review the message bundle options too; advertise the options your page actually shows, not an example pack size from someone else's tutorial.

Use Manage beside DialMe Direct Link to edit Chat welcome message. Explain what someone should send and the work you offer. This is the welcome inside DialMe, not the automatic first message someone receives in Instagram.

For example, a writing coach might use this illustrative welcome:

Send one opening paragraph and tell me who it is for. I offer written feedback on the opening, not a full-document edit. Check the message options before sending.

Adapt it to your own offer. Describe any promised response window and follow-up allowance before inviting people to pay. A message price does not explain the service by itself.

Connect Instagram

You need an Instagram professional account: either a creator account or a business account. A personal account is not eligible for this connection. The Instagram Login integration does not require a linked Facebook Page.

In Your line, find Instagram and choose Connect. The connection panel has a Connect Instagram button. Select it, read the access explanation, then choose Continue to Instagram to open Instagram's authorization screen.

Authorize the professional account you intend to use and review the permissions on Instagram's screen before agreeing. DialMe requests account identification and messaging access. Do not enter your Instagram password into a DialMe message or send it to anyone helping you set up.

When you return, check the connected Instagram username. If DialMe asks you to reconnect, complete that step before announcing the offer. A connected account and active delivery are both needed; an old connection that needs attention is not a completed setup.

The account-completion page also offers Connect Instagram, which opens the Instagram settings page. That page uses Connect Instagram for the same authorization entry point. The keyword instructions below use the Your line management screen, whose controls are different from that settings page.

Choose and save your Instagram keyword

In Your line, open Manage for Instagram, then Manage custom words and replies. On the Instagram inbox screen, choose Custom words under What comes through? Leave All DMs unselected if you want people to start through a keyword.

Choose + Add a word. In the editor:

  1. Enter your keyword in Custom word. Pick something specific to the offer, such as PARAGRAPH, rather than a greeting people use in ordinary chats.
  2. Choose Match type. Message is exactly this word matches a message containing just the keyword, apart from surrounding spaces. Message contains this word also matches the keyword inside a longer message. Matching ignores upper and lower case. The contains setting matches text anywhere, including inside a longer word; exact matching is the safer choice if you want a deliberate opt-in.
  3. Complete Your reply and choose Save custom word. The editor adds a link automatically, so you do not need to paste one into that field.

The same screen has Automatic First Message. Edit its message bubble and choose Save message to set the account's first-message text. Use this control to explain the next step the person will take. Do not assume the rule editor's Your reply and the account's first message are interchangeable; inspect the received message when you test.

An illustrative first message could be:

This is an automatic message. To request feedback on one opening paragraph, tap Start conversation. You can review the message options before paying.

The keyword editor covers text DMs and story replies, not a comment-under-a-post instruction. In keyword mode, other ordinary text DMs that do not match your saved words do not trigger the keyword reply. You can continue those conversations in Instagram. Friends are not exempt if they send the trigger themselves. Do not treat a text keyword as a filter for every kind of attachment.

Make sure Instagram delivery is active. You can pause delivery or disconnect Instagram from the management controls when needed; do not assume doing so cancels an existing purchase.

What someone sees after sending the keyword

Someone sends your chosen word to your connected Instagram account. DialMe's first-message flow provides a Start conversation button or a link in the Instagram chat.

That entry opens the person's DialMe setup for the conversation. If payment is required immediately, they choose from your available message options and continue to Stripe checkout. They then confirm the email used for the purchase. If your settings allow a free introduction, the flow can begin with email confirmation instead of an immediate purchase. Existing sign-in or purchased access can change which steps appear.

After completing the required steps, they return to the Instagram conversation. You handle the conversation in your DialMe inbox, and your replies go back to that Instagram chat. Sending a keyword alone is not a payment, and an automated first message is not your personal answer to their question.

Test Instagram before telling your audience

Use a separate Instagram account, not a message from the connected account to itself. Keep the test text free of private information.

First, send an ordinary text message without any saved keyword. Confirm that it does not produce the keyword reply. Then send the keyword exactly as you plan to advertise it. Check the first-message wording and open its button or link. Does it show the right creator and the message options you saved?

If you selected exact matching, also try a longer message containing the word. It should not match that exact rule. If you selected contains matching, it should match. Use separate test senders when checking repeated triggers; repeated sends are not a reliable way to assume you will get a fresh automated message every time.

Opening the page checks the entry, not the whole conversation. A complete test also confirms email verification, any required payment, arrival in your DialMe inbox, and a manually written reply received back in Instagram. Only make a real test purchase if you intend to pay the displayed amount. Do not promise a test mode or refund that the screen does not offer.

If the first message does not arrive, check the connected account, Custom words, the saved match type and active Instagram delivery. Follow any reconnect prompt. Check Instagram's message requests as well as the main inbox. If it still fails, use Need help? on the sign-in or account page before announcing that the keyword works.

Use your direct link without connecting Instagram

For this route, leave Instagram disconnected and finish your profile, welcome and pricing setup in Your line. You do not need an Instagram keyword.

Under DialMe Direct Link, choose Copy beside your displayed address. Or choose Share, then Copy link in the sharing panel. You can also copy the profile link on the account-completion screen. If clipboard access fails, copy the displayed address manually.

Paste that address into your website, an email, a social bio or a message you choose to send yourself. You can share it on Instagram without connecting the Instagram inbox to DialMe. Sharing a URL does not turn on keyword automation.

Use the profile address DialMe displays, not the personal entry link sent to a particular Instagram visitor. The two links serve different purposes.

What a direct-link visitor does

The shared profile link opens your public DialMe page. From its message entry, the visitor opens your DialMe chat, sees the welcome message, and writes what they want to send.

For a new visitor who is not signed in, a paid-first offer leads to message options and Stripe checkout, followed by confirmation of the purchase email. With a free introduction, the visitor can proceed through email confirmation without that initial checkout. They follow the code step to finish sending the message. A returning signed-in visitor may not need to repeat email verification.

After the message is sent, the page offers links to open the DialMe inbox on iOS or Android. This is a DialMe conversation, not an Instagram conversation: neither person needs to connect Instagram for this route, and replies are not sent to an Instagram DM merely because someone found the link there.

Open your copied link in a signed-out browser before sharing it widely. Check the public identity, the message entry, welcome and displayed options. For a full test, verify delivery and the reply with a consenting tester, including any payment the offer requires. Seeing the profile page alone does not prove someone can finish sending a message.

When you are ready to set up, visit DialMe to check current creator access. Use your invitation or the manual-review application process before relying on creator tools being available.
